Fuel Consumption Vauxhall Senator 3.0 24v automatic
I have read some critical comments about ZX1 on a "technical matters" site. I haven't seen any contributor feedback with fact!
I have one fact... at 67,000 miles at regular oil change at my Vauxhall dealers using Mobil 10w-40, Iadded the recommended amount of ZX1, 30 minutes after the oil change I went for a drive along the a23 and the M23 to Gatwich and back, the car is a 1991 Vauxhall Senator 3.0 24v Automatic.
Upon my return I was astonished to read the instant fuel consuption computer registering a consumption of 0.2/hour on tickover. It have never previously registered anything less than 0.3/hour. I cannot think how the consuption can have decreased other than through a substatioal reduction in friction - all other factors have remained the same.
That car has now covered 92,000 miles. Incidientally, I had the cylinder head modified a couple of years ago by Bill Blydenstein. The car sails through the lastest emission tests for its MOT's even without the catalytic converters fitted!!, who says you can't have more power and pollute the environment less? !!!
I am so impressed with ZX1 that I also use it in my other vehicles. A 1996 W140 Mecedes S500L ( now covered 72,000 miles) and my other car a Mercedes S600 v12 biturbo which has covered 34,000 miles. I would certainly not add anyting to the internal workings of an engine which costs in excess of £32,000 to replace, if I did not have complete confidence in it.
I also use it in a Georgie Boy Purscuit 32 motorhome which is fitted with the standard 6.5 litres GM turbo diesel engine.
