It is generally accepted that most wear occurs during start up becasue cold, viscous oil has not been circulated and bare metal surfaces are rubbing together.
By treating with ZX1 you elimitate the problem of metal to metal contact and it follows that ZX1 reduces the workload of the oil thereby extending its servicable life.
