Drilling and ZX1

Extralube ZX1 products have been found very effective in the offshore Drilling world by reducing friction. This envirmonment is often dirty and lubrication infrequent. Constant oil lubrication may not be possible and so the long lasting benefits of Extralube ZX1 treament are still present long after the the oil has been washed away.

We have used the ZX1 oil and due to the results of exception gained in matters of wear abatement, we can state the said oils means the same for the tecnique progress with penicillin for medicine!

1. Cutter Treatment

We have treated the screw taps ( for threading alloy stools) at a temperature of 140 degrees celcius and we have dipped them in ZX1 oil for a time interval of 7-8 minutes. The working period of the cutter has increased 7-8 times by repeating the treatment after a number of 70-80 uses.

2. Bearing Treatment

We have treated the bearings at a temperature of 120 degrees celcius, we have dropped 2-3 g of Zx1 oil over the balls and ring races of the bearings and finally we have greased them with aboriginal grease containing 8 % of ZX1 added.

Bearing endurance has increase over twice the power consumption has decreased with 28-34 % for motors of 3,000 rpm and with 20-24 % for motors of 1,500 rpm.

Excellent results have been gained in matter of oil mist in case of the high-speed bearings - over 20,000 rpm - lubricated with aboriginal oil plus 3% of ZX1.

UPETROM - MAI is the greatest oilfield equipment and rock bit manufacturer in the South-East Europe and the ZX1 oil has been subsequently use in greasing the rock bit bearings by using aboriginal grease plus 8% of ZX1.

Bearing endurance has increased with 34-35%, which is considered to be as very good if the severe working conditions as well as the price of the greasing operation is about 1% of the rock bit price are taken into consideration.

Now, we are extending the use of the ZX1 oil to the high-precision instrument treatment, becasue a small degreee of wear make them to be out of use.
